We have recently changed our pricing structure. We sent out emails to hundreds of print shop owners/managers about the software they were using or if they were using any software at all. The main response we received is that most companies are not using a print company specific software but instead using multiple applications and/or the tennis shoe method (running around the shop till they find the job). The reason they do not use a print company specific application is the cost. We were told of software costs ranging from $20,000 up to $100,000 and more. PCS is priced so that you can get started using an all in one print company specific application. If you mis-quote one single job every month that costs you $300 or more, you've just paid for the cost of PCS. It's basically impossible for a small to medium shop to purchase an application and be able to justify and recover those costs.
